Bernards recruit top talent to further drive thriving business

 

We are delighted to announce that Bernards has implemented a recruitment plan to support our growing business. 

Bernards’ Managing Director, Daniel Byrne, has appointed three new property professionals to bolster the successful sales and lettings teams in our Southsea and Waterlooville offices. Daniel explains the background to his recent recruitment drive.

He said, “We’ve had a flying start to 2019. Even through the market is going through a period of uncertainty due to Brexit, we’re enjoying an exceptionally busy period in both our lettings and sales businesses. We are determined to maintain our reputation for exceptional customer service and build a team of staff with property expertise and local knowledge, so we’ve been busy recruiting talented staff for our growing business.”

 

Sean Wren has joined the Southsea office in Clarendon Road as Branch Manager. Sean is an experienced estate agent, having worked in the industry for 22 years. He has worked in various roles at estate agents in Southampton, Basingstoke and London, so has wide experience of how other agents operate in other cities, which brings greater insights to our firm. Sean has been with the Southsea team for about a month and has quickly taken the helm.

He said “I’m just a few weeks in and I can honestly say that it’s been a pleasure to get to know new colleagues who are determined, happy to embrace change and really want to help local residents”.

Daniel has appointed Mike Haggard as Bernards Senior Lettings Manager, based in Southsea. Mike has been working in senior positions for another Southsea agency for the last 7 years and brings with him a wealth of property lettings experience.

Mike said, “I wanted a new challenge but was keen to remain working with tenants, contractors and landlords in the location which I know and love, which is Southsea. I’d always appreciated the Bernards company ethos and then this opportunity came up. I went for it and was incredibly pleased to be offered the job and join the team.

Bernards third new employee, Thomas Higgins, is based in the Waterlooville High Street office. His appointment demonstrates that as well as employing experienced professionals, Daniel is committed to welcoming and developing young talent. Thomas, who recently achieved a distinction for his college course at Havant & South Downs College, has joined Bernards on a year’s apprenticeship, working as a trainee negotiator. Thomas described his initial impression of working at Bernards.

He said, “I’ve really enjoyed meeting all my new work colleagues. There are lots of processes and new things to learn and remember. Being an estate agent is actually not as easy as I thought it would be!”

The Bernards teams in Southsea, Waterlooville and Portsmouth welcome all our new team members and look forward to working with them to achieve a successful 2019!
